Social Justice PLACE Week plunges rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors into social justice issues in Richmond, Indiana and the surrounding area. Each day, participants will visit organizations and interact with local officials and people working in not-for-profits to explore how challenges of racial equity, access to adequate food and housing, citizenship status, protection of civil rights, and more play out in the area that is home to Earlham College. Participants will also read and discuss relevant articles about social justice and area history and explore a relevant social justice topic of their choosing to share with the group. Not least, there will be times for socializing and for play. Applications will be accepted from February 27, 2018 until April 22, 2018.
